I Shot Iron Sights With No Front Post. Here Is How It Went.
Video posted · about 32 minutes · Atlas Arms on YouTube
Tyler Grey was a sniper in the 75th Ranger Regiment, then spent years in Delta. He designed a sight called the NDEX, made by Saberdyne Systems. The big thing about it: there is no front post.
His reason is simple. For about 70 years shooters were taught to stare at the front sight. In a real fight you need to watch the threat, and the post covers part of it. So he took the post away.
I wanted to know if that holds up, so I ran it two ways. First with irons only, then with a red dot on top. Moving targets, side to side, and out past 15 yards.
In the video I go through what I liked, where it fell off, and who I think this sight is for. Then stick around for the second half. Tyler tells range stories you will not hear anywhere else.
Thanks to Freedom Firearms (formerly American Shooters) for hosting us on the range.

Questions
What is the NDEX sight?
An iron sight from Saberdyne Systems, designed by Tyler Grey, with no front post. The idea is that you keep your eyes on the threat instead of on a front sight.
Who is Tyler Grey?
A former sniper in the 75th Ranger Regiment who then spent years in Delta. He also wrote the book Forged in Chaos.
Did you test it with a red dot?
Yes. I shot it with irons only first, then added a red dot, and I cover the good and the bad of both in the video.
