The $49 Bore Laser That Checked My Zero Without Firing a Shot

This little tool from Tactical Elites surprised me. It is a bore laser: it sits in the barrel and shows you where the gun is pointed, so you can check your optic without wasting ammo or range time.

Tactical Elites sent the kit, the bore laser and a big gun mat. I did the full unboxing and battery install, then checked the zero on three pistols: a G23, a 43X and a P365 TacOps. I tested the alignment at different distances and even tried it in a Benelli M4 to see if it fits a shotgun.

The part that got me was how far off some of my optics really were.

My verdict: this is a bench tool, not a range tool, but it is very useful. If you swap optics a lot or work on your guns at the bench, you want one. If you never change anything, it still saves you a zero check. In the video I also say what I would change for a Gen 2.
